World Server Throwing Association
Established at CloudFest 2024
For more than 10 years, servers have been thrown in data-center basements, organized by the Dutch Cloud Community. Nobody has been allowed to talk about it—until now.
On March 21, 2024, CloudFest and the Dutch Cloud Community brought this intense underground sport into the mainstream. The World Server Throwing Association (WSTA) charter codifies the rules of this sport, which had previously been criticized as “needlessly brutal to servers”, so the whole Cloud community can enjoy it.
Those attending CloudFest 2024 got to witness history, and now you can read the WSTA charter as you prepare to compete in this venerated data-center sport.
Before this charter was signed, server throwing was in the Dark Ages, and now it takes its place in the sun. This glorious sport is open to anyone with the passion to throw a server as far as they possibly can, pushing both human and manufacturing limits.
