Steve Crocker is an Internet pioneer and computer scientist. He has specialized in network protocols, computer security and formal methods. He helped develop the initial protocols for the Arpanet and created the Request for Comments (RFC) series of notes through which protocol designs are documented and shared.
At ICANN, Dr. Crocker chaired the Security and Stability Advisory Committee (SSAC), and served on the board of directors, including as chair from 2011 to 2017. He currently runs Edgemoor Research Institute focused on domain name registration data policies and tools.
