Simon is founder of Meshed Insights Ltd, an open source policy and practice consultancy, and his main client role currently is serving as the director of standards and EU policy for the [Open Source Initiative](https://opensource.org) (OSI).
Previously he served on OSI's Board and before that he ran one of the first OSPOs, at Sun Microsystems. Before that, he was a co-founder of the Java business at IBM. He has also worked at Unisys, ForgeRock and Wipro. He also volunteers at The Document Foundation (board director), and at the AlmaLinux OS Foundation (board director).
