Maria is the Head of the Planning and Standards Unit in eu-LISA, the European Agency providing digital services & large-scale IT systems that are essential instruments in the implementation of the European asylum, border management, migration and cross-border justice policies.
Maria is an experienced leader with more than 20 years of experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and driving digital transformation initiatives, programmes and projects within different policy contexts in EU and National administrations. She holds postgraduate degrees in EU Law, Information Systems & Artificial Intelligence as well as numerous professional certifications.
Maria is passionate about innovation and technology with a human focus and member of various European groups focused on innovation and AI. She is a Mentor for women and member of ‘Women in Tech’ initiatives aiming at a more diverse and inclusive tech industry
