With nearly 20 years of experience in the IT industry, Christian Böing is a best-known senior manager, leader and former CEO in the cloud- and hosting-industry. Christian served as CEO of STRATO until 2020. He grew STRATO to the No. 1 hosting player with the most active websites in Germany and sold STRATO to United Internet AG/IONOS in 2016. In addition to his role at STRATO Christian also held the position as deputy CEO of the IONOS group until 2020, where he was responsible for sales, marketing and all international markets, building up the brand IONOS cloud, as well as all activities related to M&A, subsidiary management and minority investment steering. He was appointed to more than ten supervisory boards, advisory boards, shareholder committees in the industry.
Prior to these positions, Christian held senior roles including General Manager of Media at the communications company telegate AG, and also held a position on its Management Board. Between 2008 and 2011, he acted as Head of International Product Management Hosting for the 1&1 Internet AG, and he previously held various managerial positions at Vodafone D2 GmbH. Christian holds a degree in business and began his career as a Research Assistant to Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Heribert Meffert, at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität in Münster, where he was also awarded a PhD in Marketing.
