Ann Morton is the Senior Policy Advisor to the Internet Infrastructure Coalition (i2Coalition) and the founder of her own government affairs and public policy consulting firm A.P. Morton & Company LLC. The i2Coalition, formed in 2012, is an organization of more than 100 internet infrastructure providers that advocate for policies that help keep the Internet an engine for economic growth and innovation. i2Coalition’s members include web hosting companies, data centers, domain registrars and registries, cloud infrastructure providers, managed services providers, and other foundational Internet enterprises.
Ann has been engaged in Internet and telecommunications policy debates in Washington, DC for more than 25 years representing the Fortune 500, high-growth start-ups, and nonprofits before Congress, the Executive Branch, and the Federal Communications Commission. Prior to founding her firm, Ann was a Senior Vice President in two Washington public affairs firms specializing in information and communications technology policy, including digital copyright, privacy, broadband, spectrum allocation, and Internet governance.
Her government experience includes service as Legislative Counsel to former Representative Rick Boucher (9th-VA), a co-founder and co-chair of the Congressional Internet Caucus, advancing the Congressman’s policy leadership on Internet and telecommunications legislation before the House Judiciary Committee and the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Earlier in her career Ann practiced telecommunications regulatory law with two leading Washington, DC law firms. Ann is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, and earned her law degree from The George Washington University in Washington, DC.
